0255001.NRT1 Application Field and Working Principle

NRT1 was designed for many security applications―specifically, to protect electronic systems from current overload or short circuit faults. It is a one-time fuse. Normally, this fuse is suitable for on-board strong current loop and multi-copter charging and discharging protection.

In normal operation, when the operating current is lower than the specified current of the fuse, the fuse will have no effect. When the current rises to the specified current value, it will generate a lot of heat due to the effect of operating current and melting strip, which will make the current pass through the metal wire with high resistance, and make the current rapidly decrease to a very low value in a very short time, thus achieving a very fast overcurrent protection effect.

NRT1 fuse has the characteristics of small size, light weight, rapid response, no arc suppression, high breaking capacity and good safety performance. Compared with other types of fuses, NRT1 fuse has the advantages of fast response, strong overcurrent protection performance and strong accuracy.

NRT1 is most commonly used in high power applications such as inverter charging/discharging protection, automobile electric drive, electric power control, UPS backup power, communications, frequency converters, general machinery, electrical equipment, hardware machinery, 3C products and other products for overcurrent protection. Therefore, this type of fuse is typically found in power supplies, orbit satellite components, and communications infrastructure equipment.

NRT1 fuse has the characteristics of high current overload protection, high short-circuit protection, no repairing after the fuse blowing, low arc-over, fast response and high breaking capacity, which is much better than ordinary fuse. Also it has an obvious advantage in performance.

NRT1 fuse can be mounted in the cold terminal of electrical power supply, and the current will be measured on the spot. Thus, when the current is higher than the rated current, this fuse could respond immediately and blow off the circuit in time, avoiding excessive current from causing damage to connected equipment.
