The OUCB025.X circuit breaker features a fast-action trip mechanism that will trip before an overload reaches actual rated current level. This trip mechanism is designed to respond quickly and reliably to prevent an overload condition from developing into an electrical fire or other serious safety hazard. Additionally, the OUCB025.X circuit breaker\'s dual-pole operation ensures that even in the case of a single-pole fault, both poles of the circuit will be disconnected to prevent dangerous arcing or other hazardous current paths from developing.
In terms of its working principle, the OUCB025.X circuit breaker utilizes a thermal-magnetic trip mechanism. The thermal portion of the trip mechanism is composed of bimetallic elements that sense temperature. When an overload condition occurs, these elements will heat up, causing them to bend or move and to open the contacts of the circuit breaker. The magnetic portion of the trip mechanism activates an electromagnetic armature that moves to disconnect the contacts of the circuit breaker. Together, these two mechanisms work together to quickly and reliably respond to an overload condition.
