The 1.5KE56ATR TVS diode array is primarily intended to protect high-speed data lines. It has a reverse stand-off voltage of 15V, and typical clamping voltage and breakdown voltage of 28.8V and 50V, respectively. Its peak pulse power ratings at various time intervals (8/20μs) are up to 325/170W, respectively.
In operation, the 1.5KE56ATR monitors any negative-going transient voltage for any rapid increase in the range of typical ESD events. When such an event is detected, the device will begin to provide clamping protection by acting as a low impedance path to ground, lowering the voltage on the protected data line to safe levels, and thus protecting sensitive components from voltage transients and electrical surge events.
In addition, the 1.5KE56ATR TVS clamping device can also provide an effective protection from over voltage transients generated by outside sources, such as lightning strikes and power surge events caused by induced currents. The clamping diode array is designed to protect both differential data lines in the same package, ensuring full differential line protection.
The 1.5KE56ATR is available in four dual-channel packages, and is compatible with a wide range of industry standard footprints. It has a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +125°C, and its low internal capacitance ensures that the normal signal transmission is unaffected by the device.
