Working Principle

The 10ETF04 module consists of four diodes arranged in series. Each of these diodes has its own forward voltage drop, which is directly proportional to the forward current. The maximum forward current these diodes can take is determined by the maximum forward voltage drop. When a 12V AC power supply is passed through the rectifier, the four diodes convert this AC voltage to a smooth, regulated DC voltage.The four diodes in the module are arranged in series and positive DC is produced at the output terminal while the negative DC is produced at the other side. As the AC voltage passes through the module, it rises and falls at different points depending on the waveform of the supply. When the AC voltage increases the diodes start to conduct more and the output voltage increases until the peak point is reached and the current through the diodes become constant.When the AC voltage falls the diodes start to cut off, reducing the current through the diodes and the output voltage also decreases. This cycle of increasing output voltage and cutting off happens many times per second and results in a regulated DC voltage being produced at the output terminal. The module ensures working in reverse polarity and is designed for low ripple operation.
