Working Principle
The 129SPC135A is a single–phase diode that contains two semiconductor layers electrically separated from each other. This diode also has two terminals – an anode (A) and a cathode (K). The main function of this diode is to allow the current to flow in one direction only (from the anode to the cathode), while blocking current in the opposite direction.
When an electric current is applied to the anode and cathode terminals, the diode begins to conduct and the electrons move from the anode to the cathode. This flow is made possible by the two layers of the diode, which are separated by a thin film called the depletion layer. The thinness of the layer causes electrons to flow easily through the diode, producing a low voltage drop.
When the electric current is removed from the anode and cathode, the depletion layer builds up again, creating a barrier for the current to pass. This prevents any current from flowing in the opposite direction.
