TVS - Diodes are a broad category of devices featuring high peak pulse current and power handling abilities, resulting in robust protection of electronic equipment and systems from the harmful effects of transient surge voltages. 15KPA130ATR, also known as polyswitch resettable fuse, is a kind of protective device which can be used in portable, storage, telecom, networking and other applications.15KPA130ATR has a normal resistance of 130 ohms, with a holding current ranging from 2A to 20A and a trip current ranging from 9A to 40A. It integrates two functions of over-current protection and short-circuit protection. In case of over-current, the fuse will open and reset itself when the power supply passes the overtime protection.The working principle of 15KPA130ATR is quite simple. In normal working condition, the device works as a normal resistor; internal current flowing through the resistor causes the device to heat up, and at the same time raises the PTC phase transition temperature. When there\'s over-current flow, the device heats up quickly and causes a large temperature rise which is much higher than it\'s transition temperature. As the temperature continues to rise, the device starts to transition from a low resistance state to a high resistance state, resulting in the device quickly limiting the current flow, thus protecting the electronic equipment. After the over-current is removed, the device gradually cools down and returns to the low resistance state.15KPA130ATR is mainly used in two ways: one is to protect the equipment from over-current,and the other is to reset the circuit. In case of over-current in an electronic system, the 15KPA130ATR will trip the current, limiting it to a safe threshold, thus preventing damage to the components and the circuit. For resetting, the device is typically placed in reset-lines so that when the system is powered up or rebooted, the 15KPA130ATR will open the reset line, starting the system fresh and without any residual charges.In summary, 15KPA130ATR is a polyswitch resettable fuse device that is used in various applications as an electronic equipment protection device.
