This avoiding the triggering voltage being continuously applied, as this could cause overheating of the device. Common ApplicationsSince thyristors act as electronic switches, they can be used to switch high voltage and large currents. With the 16TTS08S, this makes it a perfect low-cost device to use in a variety of common applications. Power Factor Correction (PFC)In circuits that have inductive loads, the current supplied to the load lags behind the voltage supplied to the load and this reduces the power factor.
