17-015G Application Field and Working Principle

The 17-015G is a pressure transducer designed to measure pressure from 0-7 Bar. It is a digital output transducer that uses the Wheatstone bridge pressure sensing principle. It is small in size and light in weight and is suitable for use in a wide range of applications.

17-015G has been designed with a metal body material which ensures a strong and robust construction. The transducer utilizes ceramic pressure sensing element, which is highly reliable and accurate over a wide temperature range. The device has a fully integrated temperature compensation system which provides good accuracy over the complete operational temperature range.

The device’s working principle is based on Wheatstone Bridge principle. The Wheatstone bridge is composed of four resistors connected in a bridge formation. By using a variable resistor, two of the resistors can be adjusted in order to balance the bridge. When the bridge is in balance, the voltage difference between the two sides is zero.

When pressure is applied to the transducer, pressure is applied unevenly on the two plates of the bridge thus pushing the unbalanced bridge further out of balance. As a result, a voltage difference is created between the two sides which can be measured using a voltmeter. This voltage difference is proportional to the applied pressure and can be used to calculate the pressure.
