Working Principle

The SSCSLNT001BD3A3 is a monolithic, MEMS-based pressure sensor architecture. It operates according to the principles of piezoresistive technology. A pressure sensor is basically a Wheatstone bridge circuit comprised of four piezoresistors fixed on the baseplate of the pressure transducer. Applications of pressure to the transducer base causes each of the sensors to flex and varies the resistance of each depending on the amount of pressure applied, thus altering the circuit\'s resistive balance.A Signal Conditioning IC integrated into the module senses the resistance variations on all four piezoresistors and converts them into an analogue output voltage. A Temperature Compensation Circuit, which is also included on the module, ensures accurate and consistent sensing across different temperatures. This analogue voltage output is then further conditioned by a Programmable Gain Amplifier and an embedded microcontroller for use in digital applications, or can be used directly in analogue applications.
