Terminal blocks are also widely used to join electric motors, switches, transformers and relays. In many cases, the user simply snakes the wire or cable into the terminal block and tightens the terminal screws to make the connection. Some applications require a specialized, insulated terminal block to safely carry higher voltages or currents, or to avoid accidental contact between adjacent terminals. With the wide range of terminations available, there is virtually no limit to the types of combinations that can be achieved with terminal blocks. This makes them a versatile and cost-effective solution for a wide variety of applications.
