1N4741AUR is a type of Zener Diode, which is basically used to provide constant voltage across it in an electric circuit or device. It works on the principle of an avalanche diode and is mostly used in voltage regulation, overvoltage protection, and voltage-level translation applications. This type of Zener Diode consists of a semiconductor layer between two metal contacts. The semiconductor layer is made up of P-type and N-type materials.

The semiconductor layer of 1N4741AUR Zener Diode is doped with a small amount of impurity, which is actually a freely moving electron or hole.
