Working Principle

1N5361B-TP is a low-cost semiconductor rectifier diode that works by allowing current to flow in a single direction, from the positive to the negative terminal. This is because the diode has a negative temperature coefficient, which increases the diode’s forward bias voltage as temperature increases. This results in a lower forward voltage drop, thus allowing more current to flow across the junction. The reverse breakdown voltage is also proportional to temperature and is the point of operation on the characteristic curve.
