TVS - Diodes A transient voltage suppressor (TVS) is a device designed to protect electrical and electronic equipment from damage due to transient overvoltages. The Inchange 1N6373-E3/54 is an axial leaded bidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS), designed to protect electronic equipment from excessively large voltage transients. TVS diodes are used to protect the circuit from power surges which could otherwise damage the equipment, and to ensure the continued operation of the equipment.The 1N6373-E3/54 TVS diode consists of two zener diodes connected back-to-back in parallel. Each diode is designed to conduct when a voltage greater than the clamping voltage is applied to the diode. The device limits the voltage applied to the circuit to the clamping voltage, and the current generated is absorbed by the diode.The 1N6373-E3/54 devices are ideal for applications requiring transient protection, such as power supplies, automotive electronics, communications and computer systems, and other consumer electronic devices.
