The 20CTQ035 rectifier is a short circuit capable, low power loss and low forward voltage drop Schottky Barrier rectifier, featuring low switching and forward voltage drop. It offers an extremely low reverse leakage current at high temperature, making it ideally suited to handle the higher current stresses in high speed switching and battery charge applications. In addition to its performance benefits, it also has the advantage of board space over PN junction rectifiers and offers improved and enhanced thermal performance.
The 20CTQ035 is available in Standard, High Efficiency and High Reliability packages, allowing designers to select suitable device types that meet their individual requirements. It is also available in through-hole and surface mount packages. This rectifier is perfect for a variety of applications including discrete rectification, battery charging, power supplies, and power converters.
Application Field
The 20CTQ035 Schottky rectifier is suitable for electronic motor control applications, portable medical and communication devices, high voltage lighting equipment, and any battery-operated circuit. Commonly used devices like integrated circuits and transistors benefit from low forward voltage drops and improved thermal performance to help maximize their long-term reliability and performance. The reverse leakage current of the 20CTQ035 is also much lower than that of standard PN junction rectifiers, making it ideal for low current and no power load applications, like battery recharging and portable electronic devices.
Working Principle
The 20CTQ035 rectifier functions by forming an inherently low forward voltage drop rectifying junction. It uses an exposed Schottky barrier, which is formed between the N-type semiconductor surface and the metal contact. This junction is only a few hundredths of a volt in forward voltage drop and its forward characteristics are nearly same as that of a low forward voltage rectifier. In Reverse characteristics, the 20CTQ035 has a much lower leakage current as compared to a standard rectifier and its reverse voltage stays quite stable even at high operating temperature.
The 20CTQ035 rectifier also has an improved thermal performance, providing superior power dissipation. It also features a wider temperature range of operation and higher breakdown voltages. Furthermore, it guarantees an extremely low forward voltage drop, allowing electronic devices to reach their highest efficiency and lowest power consumption.
The 20CTQ035 device offers many advantages over standard rectifier diodes. Not only does it offer extremely low forward voltage drops and improved thermal performance, but its reverse leakage current is much lower.
