Working Principle
The 24LC01BT-E/LT is a 1K-bit serial EEPROM that utilizes I²C communication protocol and supports clock frequencies up to 400 kHz. The EEPROM features three operating modes — sequential and random read, and sequential write. To read data from the 24LC01BT-E/LT, the user first writes the address where the data is stored to the address register. Once the address is written, the user can read the data by executing a Read operation. The 24LC01BT-E/LT also supports random read operations, where the user can directly specify the address at which to start the read data. The 24LC01BT-E/LT can also be used to write data in a sequential manner, with no need to specify an address. After each write operation, the address value is incremented by one automatically. For random write operations, the user must first specify an address to write the data.
The 24LC01BT-E/LT offers both hardware and software write protection. The hardware write protection disables write operations to the EEPROM when the write protect pin is active, while the software write protection enables the user to specify which memory locations should be write protected. The 24LC01BT-E/LT features a low standby current consumption (< 0.05 μA) and an operating temperature range from -40°C to 85°C. The device also features a pull-up resistor for I²C communication.
