Working principle

The address automatically increments after each data byte transfer, so it is not necessary for the host device to send a separate address for each successive data byte.

On the other hand, during a read operation, the device receives a read control signal and an 8-bit address and then sends out the data stored in the addressed memory location. The device increments the address automatically after each data byte transfer so it is not necessary for the host device to send successive address bytes. The data is sent MSB first and the byte-level communication is controlled using an acknowledgement bit.
