Snap Action Limit Switches

Snap action limit switches are designed to quickly detect a change in motion within a predetermined limit and cause an electrical operation as a result. Snap action limit switches are often referred to as micro-switches and are characterized by their relocating mechanical parts, or snap action contacts. They are used for either controlling the position or the speed of the operations, depending on the application.

2AC6 Application Field and Working Principle

2AC6 type snap action limit switches are commonly used for door interlock applications. The product is equipped with a two-switch structure, one is open and one is close, which are triggered by the mechanical action of a piston. When the limit switch is pressed, the open switch is triggered, while when it is released, the close switch is triggered. This product consists of one switch body, one actuating plunger, one open switch and one close switch.

The switch body is composed of an external case and an internal operating mechanism. The actuator plunger is the external mechanical arm of the 2AC6 switch. When the plunger is engaged, an electric contact that touches the external part of the switch closes the circuit, activating the switch. When the plunger is moved away, a second contact that touches the external part of the switch is opened, which deactivates the switch. The open switch is triggered when the plunger is pressed, while the close switch is triggered when the plunger is released.

2AC6 snap action limit switches are usually used in industrial applications. They are also used in the automotive industry, in manufacturing machinery, and in home appliances, such as washers, dryers and ovens.
