2SMES-01 is a miniature, single-pole, 8-pin, Solid State Relay designed specifically for low to large power applications. It provides the highest contact breakdown voltage ratings available. Application Field
2SMES-01 is used to switch AC and DC currents in a wide range of applications, such as medical equipment, automotive, industrial, consumer electronics and aerospace. It is suitable for general-purpose AC switching applications, and for DC switching applications, it is ideal for military and aerospace applications.
2SMES-01 is also suitable for applications that require high reliability, including aerospace, medical and industrial applications. It can reliably switch low to high voltages, up to 240V/50A AC or 60V/60A DC, and hold off up to 10kV on-state voltage.
Working Principle
The 2SMES-01 uses an insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) as its trigger to control the on/off states of the relay. When the trigger voltage is applied to the control terminals of the relay, the IGBT acts as an electronic switch and is responsible for switching the current flow. When the voltage is removed, the current flow is interrupted and the relay returns to its off state, thus providing reliable on/off operation with very low input Current and negligible losses.
The 2SMES-01 also features a built-in electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter which reduces noise and interference generated by fast-switching applications. The relay is UL and CSA approved, and carries CUR and CE certification. The IP67 rating ensures that it is protected against dust, dirt and water.
