The 30KP33CA-TP is an important application field and working principle for TVS diodes. Its prime purpose is to reduce the voltage spike that may occur during the electrical breakdown of an electronic equipment. It is a three-terminal device with two P-N junctions connected in series and also in parallel. It can perform two different functions in one device: reduce transients and provide reversed voltage protection.The 30KP33CA-TP uses two Zener diodes connected in series and also in parallel with two P-N junctions. The Zener diodes have a forward voltage drop which is proportional to the applied current. This ensures the voltage across the junction is kept constant. The Zener diodes also protect the circuits from voltage and current spikes.In addition to this, the 30KP33CA-TP provides reversed voltage protection which helps protect the circuit from the over-voltage of the positive voltage supply line. The diode helps by providing a low-impedance path for transient signals and also acts as a voltage switch.The 30KP33CA-TP also acts as a current limiter. It limits current through its two P-N junctions.
