Because LEDs require much less power than incandescent bulbs, they offer more efficient lighting for a given wattage, and produce much less heat. Additionally, LED lamps are longer lasting than either incandescent or neon, while still producing a consistent light output. This makes them ideal for applications where long-term reliability or consistency is needed.

Lighting technology has improved by leaps and bounds since the early days of incandescent lighting. Both incandescent and neon lighting are still popular for their versatility and reliability, while LED lamps offer an energy efficient and longer lasting alternative.
