3475-0000 is a type of rectangular connector used for board in and direct wire to board applications. It is a versatile product that has many uses in a variety of applications.The 3475-0000 connector has two major components – the contact and the connector body. The contact is made from a high-quality tin-plated brass material and is designed to provide high mating force and low contact resistance. The connector body is made from a thermoplastic material to provide strength, durability, and improved insulation.The contact portion of the 3475-0000 is designed to mate with a mating part or an existing wire. Through a flush mount design, the contact provides maximum contact area and ensures a secure connection. The contact can be inserted into a printed circuit board (PCB) or a wire bundle.The contact portion of the 3475-0000 connector is designed with a pin configuration which allows for easy mating to a mating part. In addition, the pin configuration allows for multiple types of wires to be connected. The 3475-0000 connector can be used for a variety of wire Terminations such as open barrel, copper braid, bare wire, and shielded wire.The contact portion of the 3475-0000 connector is designed with a number of features such as a contact retainer spring, Proppant pins, and angled pins. The contact retainer spring provides increased contact retention while the Proppant pins allow for a greater mating force. The angled pins make for easier mating. The connector body of the 3475-0000 provides a thermoplastic material for its construction. This material provides a structurally rigid body which can withstand temperature ranges from -40C to +105C. It also provides a higher level of insulation than a metal shell.Working Principle of 3475-0000 ConnectorsThe 3475-0000 connector operates by creating an electrical connection between two circuit boards or a chassis and a circuit board when used in board-in applications. The contact must first be inserted in the mating part prior to inserting the connector body into the mating part. This is achieved by using the Proppant pins which allow for a secure, low-resistance connection.When used in a direct wire-to-board application, the contact portion of the 3475-0000 connector is inserted directly into the board or a wire bundle. The contact portion features angled pins to ensure a secure connection.The 3475-0000 connector is a versatile connector which can provide a secure connection in a variety of applications. Its unique design allows for both board-in and wire-to-board applications. The thermoplastic connector housing provides greater insulation as well as higher temperature reliability, which makes it an ideal choice for many applications.
