TVS Diodes (Transient Voltage Suppressors) offer a reliable solution to protect against surge voltage transients. The 3KP60A-B diode is designed to protect single and dual line applications. It offers excellent surge protection capabilities while providing superior low clamping voltage and low leakage current performance.
3KP60A-B application fields are mainly telecommunication equipment, audio-visual equipment, automotive electronics and consumer products. These series are popular due to their excellent surge protection. The 3KP60A-B diode offers a low leakage current, and low clamping voltage. They are also RoHS compliant and have an operating temperature range from -55 °C to +125 °C. They are also capable of surviving multiple transient voltages.
The 3KP60A-B diode’s working principle is based on the use of a voltage gate. When the voltage across the protected line exceeds the preset normal voltage, the voltage breakdown occurs and a current flows through the circuit which is signalled by a voltage gate. The voltage gate is then connected to a capacitive element which holds the current extremely low. As the applied voltage continues to exceed the normal voltage, the surge voltage is clamped.
The surge protection provided by the 3KP60A-B can be divided into two distinct categories, namely the transient independent mode and the series mode. In the transient independent mode, the diode can absorb up to 2,200 watts of surge power per line without any increase in voltage. In the series mode, the diode behaves like a current buffer, allowing it to absorb up to 6,000 watts of surge power per line without any increase in voltage.
The 3KP60A-B TVS diode provides reliable and efficient protection against surge voltage transients, while offering superior low leakage current and low clamping voltage performance. These series of TVS diodes offer excellent surge protection capabilities in a wide range of application fields.
