• Working Principle

• The 40L15CW is a two-diode array which is fabricated using two single-phase, low-voltage rectifier diodes with a common junction.It is a two-anode device since both anodes are connected and therefore it exhibits a reverse-parallel-connected or antiparallel-connected diodes operation.

• When a forward biased voltage (VF) is applied, the current flows through the forward biased diode and the reverse biased diode is kept at a high reverse voltage (VR). In this case, the device works as a suitable rectifier with low loss and low junction resistance.

• On increasing the reverse voltage (VR) applied, the current begins to flow through both diodes. The two-diodes are reverse-parallel-connected or antiparallel-connected, which means that they are both in the same direction but with opposite polarities. This allows the device to act as both a fast-reverse-recovery and a fast-forward-recovery diode.

• The reverse leakage current however is minimal as the two-diodes are reverse-parallel-connected or antiparallel-connected providing a low leakage current. This feature makes the device ideal for applications where low leakage current is desired.

• Applications

• The 40L15CW is an ideal choice for a variety of applications including switching power supplies, DCDC converters, EMI filters, high-efficiency LED drivers and solar panel shunt controllers. The two-diode array exhibits very low forward voltage, low clamping voltage and low reverse leakage current and is thus perfect for these applications.
