415503-003 is an embedded water level switch developed by Micro Motion. It is mainly used to detect solid-liquid two-phase interface in the process piping, apply to industry process control, protection and alarm. The working principle of415503-003, is based on force balance principle. It is composed of four parts: Pendulum, Sensor, Diaphragm and Counterweight. When the solid-liquid two-phase interface is detected, the liquid pressure and gas pressure equal each other, and the force and counterforce of the system are balanced. Under the forced balance, protect the liquitid level relative to the position of the pendulum.

The 415503-003 has two different application fields. The first field is used for the long-distance tank filling and discharging control. When the tank is full of liquid, the 415503-003 could detect the liquid pressure reaches to a preset level, and the corresponding signal can be issued to cut off the power, the valve is closed, and the liquid in the tank is not allowed to overfill.

The second field is used for protecting the pipe system from overflowing liquid. When a pipe system is filled with liquid, it will cause excessive pressure in the system. The 415503-003 can be installed at the entrance of the pipe, when the liquid rises up to the preset level, the sensor will detect this level and send the corresponding signal, to be sent to the controller, avoiding the liquid from overflowing the pipe. It can also be used for non-destructive testing of pipeline leakages.

The 415503-003 is not only used for water level detection, but also can be used for leak detection, pressure loading and overload protection. The 415503-003 can detect the pressure up to 1.6MPa or 5Psi and can be applied to liquid pressure detection in many environments such as chemical, oil, petroleum, water treatment, food industry, etc.
