44A7422-6-1L (hereinafter referred to as “the device”) is a high voltage self-resetting fuse which is suitable for providing overcurrent protection in indoor ac distribution systems up to 690 V/690 V. It is suitable for use in applications which do not require external control, such as electric motors, thermal-magnetic protection and air conditioning systems.

In terms of its application field, the device is mainly used in ac short circuit protection and overcurrent protection applications. The work principle of the device can be divided into three parts: overcurrent protection, short circuit protection, and restraint loop.

When the device detects a short circuit, its current-sensitive element will be energized and the voltage of the output coil will be increased. As the coil voltage becomes large enough, the capacitive discharge will be triggered, resulting in an arc, which will interrupt the short circuit and provide short circuit protection.

The restraint loop is a redundant circuit which links the main line of the device and the neutral line. This circuit serves to ensure that the device will be kept in a closed state even when there is no current in the system, thus providing protection even when the system is not working.
