Fluorescent lamps

Fluorescent lamps are a type of gas-discharge lamps that use a mercury gas-argon mixture. When an electric current passes through the gas, the electrons hit mercury atoms, causing them to emit ultraviolet light. The ultraviolet light then hits the fluorescent coating on the inside of the lamp, converting it into visible light. Fluorescent lamps are very energy-efficient, meaning they can produce more light using less power. However, they contain mercury, which makes them more difficult to dispose of.

Despite the different application fields and working principles of each lamp type, they all offer their own unique advantages. Before purchasing a lamp, it is important to consider which type is best suited for the application field, and to ensure that it meets safety requirements.
