Working Principle

Connectors are the components that link two terminals together, forming a connection that allows power and signals to pass between them. Connectors consist of a pair of metal contacts, usually made of copper, and a plastic insulator to separate the two contacts. The contacts can be flat or raised, and are usually already connected to the terminal or connector.

When connecting two terminals, the contact on each terminal must fit snugly into the matching end of the connector. To ensure a secure connection, the contacts must be crimped or soldered to the connector before it is inserted into the terminal. Once the contact is securely attached, the connector is pushed into the terminal, where it should fit securely. This eliminates the need for soldering or crimping connectors and terminals.

When connecting two or more terminals, the contacts may be wired together with the use of a connection block. A connection block is a piece of plastic or metal which has a channel or passage for the connected wires to pass through. This allows multiple wires to be connected together without the need to solder or crimp them.
