It consists of two main coils, the input coil and the output coil. The input coil creates the magnetic field to hold the gate shut when it is closed, this is the static coil. The output coil then creates the magnetic field to open or close the gate, this is the dynamic coil.When an input signal is applied to the input coil, a pull-in voltage is generated and when the gate is in position to close, the magnetic field generated by the input coil pulls the gate into contact with other surfaces for a strong electrical connection.
