Incandescent Lamps

Incandescent lamps are one of the oldest light sources used in lamps. The basic technology consists of a filament of metal wire, such as tungsten, set inside a sealed glass bulb that is filled with inert gas such as nitrogen or argon. When electricity is applied to the filament, it heats up and creates an exothermic reaction that causes the filament to emit visible light. The filament is usually attached to two metal contacts at the base of the bulb, which pass the current to the filament. The intensity of the emitted light is regulated by an internal voltage regulator or a transformer.

Neon Lamps

Neon lamps are a type of gas-discharge lamp that are filled with neon gas. When electricity is applied to the lamp, the gas produces a bright orange glow due to the excitation of the atoms in the gas. This glow is visible even in broad daylight, making neon lamps well suited for outdoor use. Neon lamps are also known for their low power consumption, making them an energy-efficient alternative to traditional incandescent bulbs.
