Working Principle
The 74ABT16373BDL latch is a 4-bit transparent latch. It combines four separate latch circuits in a single package. Each latch includes four CMOS switches; two cross-connected NMOS transistors and two P-channel enhancement load transistors. When an enable input (EN) is active, the transistors are turned on and the latch affords transparent operation allowing data to enter or exit the latch. When enable input (EN) is inactive, the latch is in the non-transparent state and the data is held at the level present. The latches can be triggered on the positive clock edge or by a falling or rising edge, depending on the data control input polarity. Inputs, inversion and data control can also be used to control the master latch to facilitate testing. The 74ABT16373BDL latch also offers “implied” power-on reset, allowing the latch to remain in the reset state until the enable input is activated.
