Being a 8-bit buffer, the 74AC11240NT is a true 1-of-8 buffer/driver designed for low voltage (4.5V to 5.5V) VCC applications. This device can be applied in DSP, FPGA live migration, interface to ARM processor, logic level translators and interfaces to 7/14 stage advance latches.
The 74AC11240NTlatches data from the address pins A0 to A7, on application of the enabling logic inputs G1 and G2. When the address is latched, the corresponding outputs are enabled. A HIGH output indicates the address being applied at the inputs. The device can be used for 1-of-8 functions both in an inverting and a non-inverting output mode. Outputs are enabled in the high impedance state when G1 and G2 are LOW.
The device is characterized for operation from -40°C to 85°C, when VCC is applied between 4.5V to 5.5V. The output current is also defined at +/-24mA. It is designed with a 6 μs delay time after the enabling inputs are applied. The output is 2.5V to 3.7V.
The 74AC11240NT is made up of 8 separate gates which are this device’s primitive logic block, each one equipped with an active-low enable input so that data can be selectively enabled. When G1 and G2 are both low, all the output will be in the high impedance state and not drive their associated output logic.
