The 74LV4051PW is an integral part of the 74LV family of analog switches and multiplexers/demultiplexers. The LV version of the device includes power-down and ESD protection for use in applications requiring low-voltage and/or low-power operation.The 74LV4051PW is a high-performance multiplexer and demultiplexer which allows selection of up to eight low-voltage analog or digital signals to be routed to/from a single common line. It uses a single control line to select the desired signal.The 74LV4051PW is capable of switching signals from a maximum voltage of 7.5V down to a minimum voltage of 0.4V and can switch up to 1A of output current and support an operating frequency range of DC-100MHz. The device contains an internal thermal shutdown and protection, and is fully specified for operation over the full 0°C to +70°C temperature range.The 74LV4051PW has a wide range of applications including analog, multiplexing and logic functions such as bus bridging, data acquisition/sampling, strobing, multiple address/data busing, multiple chip/data select decoders, expansion port extension, level translators, and other interface applications. It can also be used in video systems, digital video equipments and computers.The device can be used as a general-purpose low-voltage multiplexer and demultiplexer. The multiplexer function is also useful in analog-to-digital converters, frequency-division multiplex systems, digital filtering/sampling systems and signal processors.The 74LV4051PW is a 8-channel, low-voltage analog multiplexer/demultiplexer, which uses a single control line (S) to select the input/output signal. The device can be used to route 8 signals from a single common line, or from one line to up to 8 output lines with separate control signals (A, B, C). The device is also capable of connecting 8 separate input signals to 8 separate output lines.When the enable (S) line is low, the enable control is disabled and all output enable control lines A, B, C are set to high. This results in all channels being disabled and no signal being routed through the device. When the enable line is set to high, the enable control (A, B, C) selects the input or output channel.The 74LV4051PW has high speed operation and ultra-low on-state leakage current.
