74VHC157MTR is a logic signal switch integrated circuit which belongs to the family of logic – signal switches, multiplexers, decoders. It is a quad two-input multiplexer which is usually used to do multiplexing and address decoding in digital systems. The device contains four 2-input multiplexer circuits each having three select lines. It is designed with advanced high speed CMOS technology for operating at voltage levels compatible with TTL level. Moreover, it is Schmitt trigger inputs ensure very clean pulses even at very slow input rise and fall time.

The 74VHC157MTR has four independent 2-input multiplexers, each multiplexer has two data inputs (A0, B0) and one select input (S). All the 91 outputs are active-LOW logic outputs. When the select input is HIGH (1), the multiplexer passes the A0 input to its output. When the select input is LOW (0), the multiplexer passes the B0 input to its output. In other words, the A0 or B0 data inputs can be routed to any of the 91 outputs based on the select input.
