IntroductionThe 74VHC244MX is an 8-bit buffer and line receiver with error detection created by Texas Instruments. The three states are valid logic ‘1’ and ‘0’ and invalid logic ‘x’. The signal logic ‘1’ is defined as a voltage level higher than two thirds of the power supply voltage and logic ‘0’ is defined as a voltage level lower than one third of the power supply voltage. Any signal outside of the two defined voltage ranges will be received as an invalid signal ‘x’. The output of the buffer is TTL compatible and the receiver outputs valid state ‘1’ and ‘0’. The 8-bit buffer consists of sixteen buffers, eight of which are enabled by asserting the direction pin to ‘1’ and eight of which will be enabled by asserting it to ‘0’. The eight buffers are powered by the same power supply and have the same input and output voltage level.Conclusion
