The 750105 Evaluation Boards – DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS provides a complete off-line power system capable of delivering up to 1A of output current from a wide range of input voltages (6 to 24V). The board is intended to evaluate the function and performance of 750105SQ and 750194 off-line SMPS ICs. To meet the requirements of different applications, the board is designed to test different configurations of the two ICs, including flyback, buck, and SEPIC topologies. The board also features a wide range of optional output voltage settings and an integrated protective circuit that helps to ensure safe operation.

The 750105 Evaluation Boards – DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS use the principle of isolated power conversion to convert AC85-265V input voltage to adjustable DC output voltage. This is done by coupling a resonant tank circuit, consisting of a coil and capacitor, to an AC mains supply. When an AC voltage is applied to the resonant tank circuit, it forms an oscillating tank circuit. The transformer then couples this oscillating tank circuit to the primary winding of the power transformer. The power transformer then transforms the AC mains voltage into a higher voltage, which is then rectified and regulated to form the desired output voltage.

The 750105 Evaluation Boards – DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS also incorporate a number of built-in safety features to ensure safe operation. These features include a power limiting circuit, which limits the maximum transient burst to a safe level, as well as an overvoltage protection circuit, which limits the maximum output voltage to a safe value. In addition, the boards also feature a soft-start circuit, which helps prevent current inrush during power-up, and a low dropout voltage regulator, which helps maintain the output voltage at a more regulated level.
