The 7816-0006PR is a rectangular board-in connector from Rectangular Connectors - Board In, Direct Wire to Board. This product series is designed with precision for mass-market applications, with a current rating up to 1A. Offered in through-hole and surface-mount styles, the 7816-0006PR series is available with a variety of termination options and insulation heights.

Featuring the dielectric strength of UL 94V-0 polyester, integrated contours for the self-lifting contact sheets and phosphate termination options, the 7816-0006PR is well-suited for industrial, telecomms and consumer appliance applications. The 7816-0006PR provides the Snap-in geometry decision, which is especially useful for applications that require quick and easy connection.

The 7816-0006PR is a board-in connecting system with an integrated rigid threaded insert that accepts 8-32 optical protrusion grip tolerances. The user clips the PCB connectors to the edge of the board and routes the contact leads through the wall without the use of a rail or bushing. The 7816-0006PR range provides up to 18 contacts in single or dual rows allowing data rates of up to 3 Mbps.

To provide reliable mating and standard positioning, the 7816-0006PR comes with a duplex curved guide post feature. The 7816-0006PR also has a positive lock design. On the mating side, two pins that pass through the connector walls provide a positive locking on the board when the connector is mated. On the contact side, a bar that passes through the contact walls prevents contact back out.

The 7816-0006PR offers excellent retention and dependable connections due to its clever and thoughtfully engineered features. The inner walls of the 7816-0006PR connector are scalloped to accommodate stainless steel self-lifting contact sheets that provide a secure contact in the orienting positions. The 7816-0006PR’s signal and power contacts both feature the sweep contacts design which allows the signal contacts to move away from any RF or EMI generated by the power contact. The sweep contacts allow low EMI performance to be achieved while maintaining a reliable connection between the printed circuit board mating contacts. Finally, the 7816-0006PR offers superior plugging performance over a wide temperature range of -40°C to 105°C with excellent shielding.
