The 8100605EA is a quad single pole double throw, single 20 pin package, analog switch IC. Designed to work with low voltage dynamic parameters, the switch has an on resistance of 1.45 Ω and a guaranteed logic level of ± 1.0 V. This makes it ideal for applications that require a combination of high voltage handling and low leakage current for low noise analog low voltage switching applications.

The device features a wide operating temperature range from -40 °C to 85 °C, peak-to-peak signal range of ± 4V, power supply range from 3V to 12V and an integrated ESD protection of up to ± 2000V. Other features include a low power consumption of 28mW, ultra-low switching density of 0.1pF and low current handling of 40mA.

Applications

The 8100605EA is ideal for applications such as multiplexers, analog switch matrices, non-isolated signal switching, video switching, input & output signal routing, and signal routing in audio applications. It is also suitable for RFI feedthrough circuits, battery switching and low voltage logic applications.

Working Principle

The 8100605EA\'s switching mechanism works based on CMOS (complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor) process. When the input voltage exceeds the switching thresholds, the device will switch to the opposite state. The switch has a low quiescent current and low supply voltage, so it will not interfere with the signal being switched. When the switch is activated, it is ensured that signals will switch smoothly with low noise and distortion.

The analog switch also features a discrete three-terminal interrupt mechanism, which ensures that the output will be held in the off-state. This ensures that even in the event of an unexpected input signal, the switch will remain off.

The 8100605EA device is available as a 20-pin S/PLCC package with a variety of different inputs and outputs. The device can also be supplied as a 8-pin SOIC or 6-pin SOT223 package.
