Pressure transducers are widely used in various fields. The 86-015G-RT pressure transducers are designed to measure absolute and gauge pressure in gas and liquid media even at extremely high temperatures. The pressure transducers are used to detect the increase or decrease in pressure and convert it into electrical signals. Different types of pressure transducers are available such as differential pressure transducers, absolute pressure transducers, and gauge pressure transducers. The 86-015G-RT transducers are differential types. They convert the hydrodynamic pressure fluctuations into the potential difference.

The working principle of the 86-015G-RT transducers is based on the Wheatstone bridge. This bridge circuit consists of four resistors, and when the resistors values are changed, the bridge becomes unbalanced and produces an output voltage. The resistance of the resistors is changed by the pressure applied on the dielectric spacer. The pressure applied on the spacer is transferred to the strain gauges, which are mounted on the spacer, and these would in turn allow the current to flow.

The strain gauges are the key component of the bridge. These gauges are made up of Crystalline, and when the force is applied on it, it will change it’s electrical resistance in accordance to the amount of strain. The resistance of the strain gauges is measured by the bridge, and the change in the resistance with the pressure is indicated by the bridge by producing the output voltage.

These transducers measure different types of pressure such as absolute, pressure, gauge pressure and differential pressure. In each case, the output voltage is applied to a converter which converts this voltage into a usable pressure unit. This converted pressure value is then used to identify the pressure type.
