The 87CNQ020ASL is a surface mount diode rectifier array featuring low VF and low leakage current. It is designed for use in the various applications ranging from general purpose rectification to highly efficient high frequency power supplies and DC to DC converters. The device provides current handling capabilities up to 1.5A per pin and a VF of as low as 0.77V. This device is ideal in a wide variety of low voltage, high current rectification applications.The device consists of three independent 2A diodes with an anode and cathode on each diode. Each diode can be supplied independent of the other two diodes, allowing independant and separate voltage control. This device is able to effectively double the current capacity of a single normal diode without the need for a heatsink or any extra components.The 87CNQ020ASL rectifier array is based on the Schottky diode (or Schottky barrier diode) technology, which is a semiconductor composed of two different materials, a metal semiconductor junction. The Schottky contact allows forward current flow with lower voltage drop than in a conventional PN junction. This material combination has less forward voltage (Vf), lower leakage current and higher reverse breakdown voltage than a normal PN junction.The Schottky diode has a predetermined breakdown voltage (Vb) and current rating (Ib) for the array.
