The 9LPRS142AGLFT device is a low-skew, low-noise and low-jitter clock generator and is part of the Clock/Timing category of electronics. As clock generators and PLLs; frequency synthesizers, the 9LPRS142AGLFT is specially suited for applications requiring low-jitter clocks. The devide can also be used for data transmission, signal processing, memory and storage systems, and many other high-performance systems.The main purpose of the 9LPRS142AGLFT device is to synchronize itself with an input clock signal, such as a crystal oscillator, and then output an accurate clock signal with very low jitter, noise and skew. This clock generator can generate frequencies ranging up to 10-300 MHz and its normalized phase jitter is 0.63ps (12 kHz - 20 MHz range). The on-chip PLL also allows for a wide range of input frequency ranges, making it suitable for a variety of applications. The 9LPRS142AGLFT is designed to be used in systems that require very low-skew and low-jitter clock signals, such as communications systems, data transmissions, embedded systems and some consumer products. The device is optimized for data communications, such as the SONET/SDH, Ethernet, and SDRAM, where latency and clock accuracy are important. The 9LPRS142AGLFT works by using a combination of an oscillator, a phase-locked loop (PLL) with multiple dividers and multipliers and an output clock buffer. The oscillator provides the initial timing reference which is then further filtered and divided to generate the final clock output.The oscillator section consists of a harmonic-free, low-skew, low-jitter clocking reference where the individual oscillation frequency can be programmed in the range of 10 to 300 MHz. The oscillator is also compatible with crystal, ceramic resonator and PECL clock inputs. The PECL inputs have an adjustable duty-cycle for matching the appropriate source.The generated clock signals are then routed to the PLL where the time bases are further divided and multiplied to produce the desired output frequency. The PLL also contains several clock dividers, which are routed to the outputs. The device also has a low-skew; low-jitter output buffer which can drive up to 64 outputs. The output buffer also includes a programmable duty-cycle and also supports an open drain configuration for AC coupled outputs. This output buffer has a slew-rate up to 800 ps, which ensure low jitter and low phase noise clock signals.In addition to its low-skew; low-jitter output buffer and oscillator, the 9LPRS142AGLFT device also has several other features. These include programmable phase and frequency offsets and an adjustable input frequency range. The device also supports multiple operational modes and can be programmed through I2C or can be accessed through a chip-select pin.Overall, the 9LPRS142AGLFT is a low-jitter; low-stability device designed for high-performance clock generation.
