Clock/timing applications have become increasingly important in today\'s world due to the abundance of digital devices and their need for time and/or calendar-based functions. The 9LPRS511EGLFT is an application-specific low-power RF clock/timing module specifically created for wireless applications. It allows users to combine a low-power, high-performance 8051 microcontroller with a built-in full-function RTC (Real Time Clock) and a digital transceiver to provide synchronized communication among digital devices.
The 9LPRS511EGLFT module supports IEEE 802.15.4g standards and offers on-board proprietary technologies such as Power Saving Mechanism (PSM), Clear Channel Assessment (CCA), physical layer security, source synchronization, and true low-power dynamic duty cycle to extend the battery life of connected digital devices. The module offers a flexible range of input and output options, allowing developers to create products tailored to their specific needs.

- 32-bit architecture with flash program memory and RAM operated at 40 MHz;
- Support for Compact (25 mA), Sleep Mode (4 mA) and Power Down Mode (2 mA) system operation;

- Hardware-enabled packet encryption/decryption;
- Integrated low-power RTC, including a 32 kHz crystal oscillator, temperature compensated time-of-day calendar, and time-stamping functions;

The 9LPRS511EGLFT supports traditional frequency-hopping spread-spectrum as well as a proprietary frequency-hopping spread-spectrum (FHSS) modulation. FHSS is an efficient form of spread-spectrum modulation that offers improved range, robustness, and reliability in the presence of external noise and interference. FHSS also offers privacy by allowing the user to modify the hopping sequence. A CC2420 Radio Frequency (RF) transceiver with an information rate of 250 kbps provides building block options for a wide range of short-range wireless communication products.
The 9LPRS511EGLFT also features an integrated power amplifier (PA) and an Ultra Low Power Transmit Mode (ULPTM) that provide a power saving of up to 30 percent. The PA has an output power of up to +20dBm. When ULPTM is used, the average power consumption is about 4mA at 0 dBm and about 8mA at +20 dBm. The module also supports an RF-LNA and an on-board antenna in the form of a printed antenna suitable for embedded applications. The on-board antenna provides a good peak-to-average ratio (PAR) and supports Bluetooth and Zigbee-based application.
The 9LPRS511EGLFT also integrates a low-power RTC as mentioned previously. The RTC includes a 32-kHz crystal oscillator, temperature-compensated time-of-day calendar, and time-stamping functions. The module also supports one-shot and periodic timers, allowing the device to wake up periodically to listen or transmit information. The application-specific nature of the 9LPRS511EGLFT makes it the perfect choice for low-power wireless applications, making it a great option for embedded applications such as wireless sensor networks, wireless mesh networks, wireless energy management, wireless health care, and other wireless applications.
