The A6595KA are Power Distribution Switches, Load Drivers, designed mainly for portable and handheld applications. It is a single-channel, low-voltage, low-side device suitable for general-purpose switching and load driving purposes. The A6595KA is designed to be used with battery-powered and mobile systems. The device supports a wide range of input voltages and delivers load currents up to 500mA.

The A6595KA integrates MOSFET and NPN transistor to provide switching and event sensing control, respectively. The integrated MOSFET has a maximum drain-source resistance of 1.2Ω. It also incorporates a programmable pre-bias current sink and current-limit sense. This guarantees full-featured overcurrent protection, allowing the device to limit inrush current, withstand greater load current and eliminate the need for external components. This, in turn, reduces external component count and decreases solution footprint.

The A6595KA can be used for general-purpose switching, such as lighting control, fan control and power supply sequencing, as well as for driving LED and relay coils and automotive LED lamps. It is also suitable for controlling e-loads, such as small motors and heating elements. Its current-limit sense eliminates the need for external current-sensing circuitry and its wide input voltage range from 3V to 16V allows it to be used in a variety of applications.

The A6595KA can operate in two different modes: Mode 1 enables the device to switch ON and OFF the output based on an input control signal; and Mode 2 enables the device to switch ON and OFF the output based on an input control signal and the current-limit sense. The A6595KA also incorporates programmable pre-bias current sink and current-limit sense that protects the device from overloaded condition. The power-on reset circuitry also helps in keeping resetting the device in the event of an overload.

The A6595KA also operates in diode-emulation mode, protecting the source from back-biased effects. The device also includes protection against false triggering and open circuit faults. The device is also able to withstand over-voltage conditions without any damage. It also features wide operating temperature range from -40°C to +125°C.

The A6595KA is packaged in a thermally enhanced 3x3mm SOT-23-6 package, which offers superior thermal performance. This device is also available in other packages such as SOIC and eTOXX. The A6595KA is offered in automotive-grade version and is AEC-Q100 qualified and supports PPAP requirements.
