The ACE KIT - ICD-S40/PCW is an evaluation board for use with many types of microcontrollers, digital signal processors and specialized processors such as TMS320C6x and Pentium 4. It consists of a base board and an optional ICD-S40/PCW daughterboard.

The base board’s circuitry includes many features common to traditional evaluation boards, such as multiple clock frequencies, a LCD display, multiple pull-down resistors, and a push button. Additionally, the baseboard has a socket for an optional ICD-S40/PCW daughter board containing an Atmel ATmega1284 microcontroller, an FTDI USB cable, and four I/O ports. The ATmega1284 microcontroller allows users to easily program and control the board.

The ACE KIT - ICD-S40/PCW integrates a wide variety of peripherals and hardware interfaces including analog input, analog output, digital input, digital output, UART interfaces, SPI, I2C, USB, and CAN buses. It also provides an on-board power supply regulator, an LCD display, and a system controller.

The board can also be used as a development system for embedded applications. An in-system programmer and debugger are integrated on the board, allowing users to quickly and easily program and debug software applications. In addition, the board provides advanced debugging capabilities, including single-stepping, breakpoints, and memory and register display.

The ACE KIT - ICD-S40/PCW is an ideal tool for evaluating the performance of microcontrollers, digital signal processors, DSPs, and other processor families. It is an easy-to-use and cost-effective solution for embedded application design and development. The board can be used with multiple architectural families, such as TMS320C6x, Pentium 4, and other processor families.

The ACE KIT – ICD-S40/PCW measures 5” x 3” and has several features that combine to create a powerful and versatile system. The base board features a wide range of connectors, and includes an LCD display, a USB port, a 12-bit analog-to-digital converter, a microphone input port, and an RS-232 serial port. The daughterboard is mounted to the baseboard and offers users an Atmel ATmega1284 microcontroller, four I/O ports, and an FTDI USB cable.

The Atmel ATmega1284 microcontroller is used to program and control the board. It is capable of programming using SPI, I2C, eMMC, and a wide variety of other digital protocols. The daughterboard also includes several activities, such as wake-up functions, for interrupting the board’s idle state and provoking timer interrupts.

The board also features several on-board peripherals and hardware interfaces, such as analog input, analog output, digital input, digital output, UART interfaces, SPI, I2C, USB, and CAN buses. The board also provides an on-board power supply regulator and system controller, as well as an LCD display.
