Working Principle of ACS102-6T1-TR

When no gate current is applied, the TRIAC remains off. On the other hand, when controlled gate current is applied, it will conduct current in both directions. The gate current is generally provided in the form of an AC signal. The current will alternate in direction, and the TRIAC will continuously alternate the current flow in the main circuit until the gate current is stopped.

The device also incorporates an avalanche diode which is used to protect the TRIAC from over-currents. When the current reaches a certain value, the diode will become forward biased, allowing the current to flow in the reverse direction and protect the device from damage.

The ACS102-6T1-TR also provides protection against high and low temperature operation.
