Data Acquisition - Digital to Analog Converters (DAC) fundamentally converts a digital number into its equivalent analog voltage or current form. These digital to analog converters – DACs, are also known as analog circuit elements and are used in a variety of applications including test and measurement, instrumentation, communications, and computer interface applications. AD5062BRJZ-1500RL7 is a precision 8-/10-/12-Bit voltage output digital to analog converters which feature wide input common-mode voltage range, low power consumption, high accuracy, and fast settling time. The device operates from a single +2.7V to +5.5V power supply. This makes the device suitable for a wide variety of applications.
This device features a parallel port compatible interface, with an enable/chip select, with three-state outputs to allow paralleling of multiple devices in bus mode, allowing users to join several DACs in addressable mode. The AD5062BRJZ-1500RL7 provides the user with the capability of incrementing the output voltage (in 1x range mode) and current (in 2x range mode) in steps as small as 4mV and 200nA respectively. This digital to analog converter – DAC, is powered by the reference voltage applied to the REF input, and controlled by the digital words written through the I/O port.
The AD5062BRJZ-1500RL7 provides the user with two output ranges, selected by the -RANGE control pin. In 1x range, the full-scale output voltage is equal to the reference voltage applied to the REF pin. And in 2x range, the full-scale output current is equal to twice of the reference voltage. The current output range is regulated by the REF pin, and the user can select either 1x or 2x range mode. The device also incorporates an impedance line driver capable of driving large capacitive loads.
In applications, the AD5062BRJZ-1500RL7 operates in two power modes, namely the low power and high power modes. In the low power Mode, the device consumes only 280µA whereas in high power Mode, the device consumes only 420µA of current. The device also features low noise, faster settling time and has an excellent accuracy over the industrial temperature range and a wide power supply range. The device is available in the SOIC-20 package and the package is compliant with lead free, Halogen free and RoHS 6 requirements.
