AD534JHZ belongs to Linear - Analog Multipliers, Dividers.It is a four quadrant Analog Multiplier/Divider IC. It takes two input Voltage and will give output Voltage on the final output which are proportional to the square of the product of two input voltage. The input voltage is amplified and will be applied to the multiplying element of the IC. The output voltage from the multiplying element is next applied to the dividing element of the IC, and is eventually filtered by the filter elements in the IC.
AD534JHZ has three input and two output pins. The three input pins are VinA, VinB and Gain control (G). VinA and VinB are multiplied by the internal multiplier and the scaled voltage is outputted at VoutA. VinA and VinB are divided by the internal divider and the scaled voltage output at VoutB. The scaling of the multiplication is controlled by Gain Control (G). Its Gain Control is a potentiometer so that it can be preadjusted externally.
The crossover frequency of the IC is 100kHz and the operating temperature range is from -40 to +85 degree Celsius. AD534JHZ can easily be used in analog field applications such as audio filters and synthesizers, as well as for RF gain control. It can also be used for microwave applications such as controlling the gain of antennas, amplifiers, and for sweeping linear modulation.
The working principle of AD534JHZ can be divided into two parts, multiplication and division. The multiplication of two input voltages (vinA and vinB) generates an output voltage at VoutA, which is proportional to the square of the product of the two voltages. The division of two input voltages (vinA and vinB) also generates an output voltage at VoutB, which is proportional to the quotient of the two voltages. In addition, the gain control (G) can be adjusted to control the scaling of the output voltage. The working of AD534JHZ is flexible and offers excellent performance over a wide frequency range.
