AD625AD Application Field and Working Principle
The AD625AD is an ultra-low cost single-supply monolithic instrumentation amplifier. It is typically used for a wide range of applications such as signal conditioning, filtering, and isolation. It can operate over a wide supply range of 1.3V to 18V with a quiescent current of only 10µA.
The AD625AD is a high performance, low cost analog instrumentation amplifier which combines precision dc precision, low drift, high output linearity, low distortion and excellent noise rejection. It is designed for use in a wide range of applications from low impedance single-ended conditioning to differential-ended amplifier design with or without buffer stages. The AD625AD contains an internal feedback resistor for each channel which provides excellent gain accuracy and drift.
The device operates on a wide supply range of 1.3V to 18V and features a low quiescent current of only 10 microamperes, making it suitable for battery operated applications such as medical implants, portable medical equipment and other remote instrumentation systems. It also features low noise and excellent gain accuracy with a settling time of typically 0.1 microseconds. The high CMRR and PSRR characteristics of the device ensure that it is well suited for use in high ESD environments.
In its basic form, the AD625AD consists of three amplifiers: a non-inverting amplifier, an inverting amplifier, and an output buffer. The internal feedback resistors for each channel provide excellent gain accuracy and drift. The non-inverting amplifier can be adjusted by setting the output to the desired gain and then setting the non-inverting gain, G1. The inverting amplifier can then be adjusted for differential input or for single ended applications by controlling the gain, G2. The output buffer is used to stabilize the overall output of the system and set the gain accuracy. The output buffer can be adjusted by changing the resistor values at the output of the amplifier.
The gain accuracy is adjustable with an output accuracy of 0.5%, and a minimum CMRRof -50 dB. The AD625AD provides excellent ESD and EMC performance, making it suited for use in portable and medical instrumentation applications. Additionally, the device can be used in high temperature environments, as it has an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C.
