The AD664BD-BIP is a digitally-controlled, 8-bit multiplying Digital to Analog Converter (DAC) designed to interface directly with standard 8, 10 and 12-bit digital word systems. This device is ideal for data acquisition applications requiring the use of higher resolution analog outputs than those provided by traditional DAC solutions. It is capable of 16-bit linear performance with a full rail-to-rail output voltage range, allowing it to provide both single-ended or differential output configurations.

The AD664BD-BIP features 0.25 LSB INL (Integral Non-Linearity) which ensures high resolution analog output performance with low noise and distortion. The device also features enhanced power consumption features such as reduced power consumption during idle mode operation and a built-in dynamic range control (DRC) to reduce spurious output levels. Additionally, the DAC has a fully adjustable slew rate, up to ±150 V/µs, allowing the user to maximize their performance for the application.

The AD664BD-BIP uses a two-stage architecture with a high impedance digitally programmable reference amplifier and two independent full-scale voltage switches. This architecture allows the DAC to process multiple inputs simultaneously and eliminates temperature drift by consistently generating a high-impedance output irrespective of load conditions. Furthermore, the device provides an analog output voltage range of ±2.2 V, which can be independently programmable for both single-ended and differential output configurations.
