The AD674BARZ is a data acquisition device, specifically classified under Analog to Digital Converters (ADC). It operates from a single +5/±5VDC supply and offers a conversion rate of up to 75kHz.This ADC is designed for single-supply operation over the full industrial temperature range (−40° to +85°C). The AD674BARZ offers excellent linearity, with a total Unadjusted Error (TUE) of less than 0.5% over the full operation and temperature range. It also features excellent common-mode and power-supply rejection performance.The AD674BARZ utilizes a hybrid architecture that employs both analog and digital functions. The analog section includes four differential/dual single-ended inputs, two sample and hold amplifiers, and two comparator circuits. The digital section of the ADC consists of three 8-bit and two 2-bit flash successive-approximation register converters, as well as four registers for the storage of the last 8 bits of the conversion result.The AD674BARZ was designed to be highly power efficient and is capable of operating at a CA World duty cycle of 3.2%. This duty cycle accurately represents the time the ADC goes from start to conversion. The duty cycle is designed to reduce the peak power, thus reducing power demands on the power supply.The AD674BARZ also features a built-in latching mechanism which ensures that data is not lost when the switching time of the logic is longer than the conversion period. This feature eliminates the need for external logic to latch the data, reducing system complexity and cost.The AD674BARZ is an excellent choice for applications requiring high resolution and accuracy. Its wide dynamic range and power efficiency make it suitable for applications such as precision data acquisition systems, process and plant monitoring and control, instrumentation, test and measurement, and signal conditioning.
