Analog to Digital Converters (ADC) are electronic devices which convert continuous analog signals into discrete digital signals. The AD677KD is a high accuracy 12-bit successive approximation analog-to-digital converter which utilizes a matched resistor string architecture to achieve - 0.25 LSB (Least Significant Bit) differential nonlinearity accuracy. This ensures that data acquisition applications requiring utmost precision are properly serviced. Particularly, this converter excels in “transition” signals. The AD677KD has been designed to perform in wide variety of applications. For example, this device is highly suitable for use with scales and other industrial weigh equipment, as it can accurately measure and record oscillations or changes in weight or force. It is also suitable for use in medical and laboratory equipment-- such as blood pressure monitor and glucose monitor, as these medical and laboratory equipments require conversions of an analog/continuous signal that are reliable and repeatable. At this point, the 12-bit digital equivalent is obtained and the conversion is complete. The main benefit of this technique is the resulting accuracy -- a resolution of 0.25 LSB (Least Significant Bit).
